Secure online booking with two-factor authentication

Help keep your online booking secure by using Jezzam's two-factor authentication.

Improving your security is easy to do

Everyone knows online security is important. And keeping your online booking secure with two-factor authentication is one of the tools now availalble to you in Jezzam.

Some other ways we can all improve our online security include:

  • having different passwords for different online accounts
  • making passwords complex
  • using password management software to keep all those passwords organised (and not writing them down on scraps of paper!)

At Jezzam we take your security seriously and sometimes a log-in password is just not enough. That's where Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) comes in and offers another way that can really help you keep things secure.

What is two-factor authentication?

It might sound like something you need to do to get on a talent show but actually it's something most of us are probably already familiar with.

Most banks and many other services already use it. It's where you login and then are required to enter a verification code that has either been sent to you (by text message/email) or generated in an app you have on your mobile phone or other device.

Security professionals recommend using multiple authentication factors where possible. With two-factor authentication those factors are usually: “something you know”, like your password, and “something you have”, like getting a text message or using an authenticator app on your phone to generate a secret code.

How to use Jezzam to Secure online booking with two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication is available to anyone with a Jezzam user profile. Whether you're an administrator of a Jezzam account or simply use your profile to manage your bookings, Jezzam gives you the option to activate two-factor authentication.

To use Jezzam's two-factor authentication, you'll need an authenticator app like Google AuthenticatorMicrosoft Authenticator or Authy. Many password managers such as 1Password and LastPass also include authenticators. Most authenticator apps are available for your tablet or mobile phone and some will also run on you computer.*

Easy two-factor authentication setup for online booking

Once you've got your authenticator app, simply log in to your Jezzam user profile, go to the "Password & Security" tab, activate two-factor authentication and follow the instructions.

For more details on how to setup two-factor authentication, see our knowledge-base article.

What happens when I login?

When you login with two-factor authentication activated, you'll need to enter your email address and password as usual. You'll then be asked to enter the secret code from your authenticator app. And that's it! Nice and simple.

The SCA rules will apply to transactions where both the business and the cardholder’s bank are located in the European Economic Area.

As always, we hope you like this additional security feature in Jezzam. Let us have your feedback.
